Ég hef verið að sinna hinum ýmsu hlutum frá því að ég kom heim á fimmtudaginn síðasta. Ég hef fengið heillaóskir frá mörgum og vil ég þakka kærlega fyrir hugulsemina. Ég ætlaði að fara strax í að laga ritgerðina en Pat réð mér frá því, heldur bíða eftir formlegri skýrslu andmælenda. Veronica sendi mér síðan skýrsluna í gær. Athugasemdirnar eru 12 og hljóða þannig:

1. Make very clear the link between the man elements of the thesis – Intellectual Capital, Resource Based View, Learning Company and Business Excellence.

2. Expand p16 comments on the dotcom bust – how does this link.

3. Make clear that this is not Action Research. It may be appropriate to suggest that this is the basis for future Action Research.

4. Make clear your philosophical stance. This may be in one camp (positivistic) or another (antipositivistic), it could also be both as a blended approach. Justify and explain the position and remove or explain confusing statements about the position throughout the thesis. For example, on p31rethink or explain how intangibles can be objectively measured.

5. Explain the statement about ‘good journals’. What is a good journal?

6. P34 substitute ‘domains’ for boundaries.

7. p109 Inductive positivistic research is possible – review this statement.

8. p114 Is your survey positivistic by definition or could it be something else? Explain your position.

9. Discuss the unit of analysis more fully – is it the individual? The organisation? Is your sample homogeneous? If not, what does this imply?

10. What exactly is the dependent variable of business excellence – input, process, output, outcome? How objective or subjective is it as a measure? Why as a more objective output/outcome is measurement not possible (see Fitzdorf et al)

11. Discuss the possibility of the ‘halo effect’ in your work. Why is it or is it not an issue?

12. Tidy up the typographical errors.
